Stauer 5 blade pocket knife question

Hi all,

Recently a friend of mine picked up a couple of these 5 bladed knives. He knows I collect pocket knives and gave one to me. It only carries the Stauer name on the knife.
I though they made watches and assume they had someone make the knives for them. So, I wrote them an email stating that I thought they had done a nice job and asked who had made the knives.

They replied that they do not disclose that information.

Really? So I thought I would post here to see if anyone knows who made the knives for them. Will try to post a couple of pictures.

I should add that I know it is made in China. I just wondered by whom.
I never like "its a secret" for an answer, lol.

I say take your pick of a classic maker that is now defunct and being made in China under the same name. Those blades I have seen on many knives made under such circumstances.

That's the type of answer that ensures I will never buy any of their products.
