been noticing a trend. i would like it to stop.

staying on topic. someone starting a thread, and other people going off, way off, even in the first few replies, completely derailing the post, noise vs signal.

stop it.

i won't point out examples, but you know who you are. i hope. i WILL tell you later though.

this is official warning.

if someone is doing a review? stay kinda on topic to a lot on topic.

if someone is doing oh i don't know, a pass-around? and you're not involved it it? feel the need to snark? we have a thread for snarking. unlessthe author has provided a chat thread for this purpose. or start your own. do not pollute other threads. yes? good.

ESPECIALLY if someone is asking you to keep on topic, for purposes of a contest? don't like the rules? it's not a chat thread or free form? a signup thread "no chatting"? well, i think you're getting the point. not all threads are for the snarking, mocking etc. warning will be issued. cleanup will occur - esp on serious threads.

please do keep up the lively conversation and all that... just think a little before you post.
