STBS question

Hey guys quick question: should a brand new knife with brand new STBS bearings feel notchy? Is there a break in period? Should I lube it with a drop of oil?

Or if it's not smooth and fluid from end to end right away, is there something wrong?

The knife in question is a brand new Tighe (my first) so I'm a little unsure. I plan to email them directly too but figured I'd ask the experts here as well. Thanks for your time.

It could. Give it a break in period. If no improvement after a couple 100 openings or so you can send it back for adjustment. Personally I wouldn't lube it for break in....it should be ready from the factory.
