Went camping for the weekend and used my previously unused ESSE 4 for tons of camp tasks, much to my satisfaction. When I unpacked I noticed the micarta handle was quite dark in many areas, and it smells of steak grease. Yum! I'm looking for a recommendation on cleaning, I don't want to harm the material. From what I've read it seems I can just use soap and water and give it a good scrub, but I wanted to be sure before doing so. Thanks in advance!
