Here's something a little different. Had a customer bring me two antique forks to rehandle. I had the idea to make a knife and fork set. 440C steel, stainless bolsters, stag scales. Fork is 3 tined and really pointed.

Michael, well done!

That set will probably see more use than most other knives!

I just met with a long time friend for his B-Day lunch and I gave him a steak knife I made!

These make me real hungry for grilled sirloin, medium rare.
Beautiful work on the set.

those look great Mike. what is the material on the second set? Polished stag? I just recently bought a knife that can be used as steak knife but the chap did not have fork also. I am still awaiting the sheath that was promised a month ago so keeping fingers crossed. The set is superb though. What with my dieting I am not doing a lot of restaurant stuff but will be this week as we were invited out by friend and I suspect the knife will get used. A set like yours would have been extra special for sure. Well done my friend.

Murray, The second set is mammoth ivory. And thanks for the kind words. It's neat to go to a restaurant and know that the only mouth the fork has been in is yours!

Very cool. I remember a "trend" in the 70's with knife sets like these. They were called "traveler kits".
