Hello, I have a set of shun premier steak knives that I love. However I would like a set of nice but less expensive steak knives for random cook outs and less careful company. My knife block has six slots for such a set, the slots are 1" tall so I need knives that fit in them. I prefer plain edge over serrated as I sharpen my own. Not necessarily looking for the cheapest out there but not shun price tag. Looking for aesthetically pleasing knives with a decent steel. Thank you to all that answer.
 
You can often find a set of 6 Chicago Cutlery steak knives with a block for a reasonable price on ebay. Search for vintage Chicago cutlery.
