Serrated vs plain edge steak knives? Should I just get over the fact that I hait serrated steak knives and deal with it. I usually get new serrated steak knives like once a year. Chuck the old ones get new ones. Cheap knives tho. But I've really grown to hait them I feel like I'm sawing through a superbly cooked steak. What do you guys think.

I think that if you are cutting your steaks on a ceramic/stoneware plate then just go with the cheapy serrated ones. If you want to spend the money and get a good set of either serrated or non-serrated then cut some rectangles out of those flexible plastic cutting boards (or maybe bamboo) and serve the steaks with them between the plate and the steak. It will protect the edge.

Hi Sidekick -

Normally I would agree, but just today I received a complete Buck cutlery set, and the serrated steak knives that came with this set are top notch!

These are a gift set for my son for his upcoming birthday, but I plan on getting a set for my kitchen after seeing how beautifully made these knives are.

best regards -
