Anyone seen one of these in the wild? I'm liking a lot of Stedemon's designs. I think his one is a highly attractive rendition of the slim-profile folding kwaiken genre.

But it's still hard to pony up that much for a newish Chinese company's knives when I've never handled one in person and don't know much about the warranty or service.

I've had a Shy since they first hit the big knife stores and I've been very happy with it.
 
I had one an sent it back because it had no detent holding the blade in. Dangerous with tip up carry.

I hope it was an isolated incident as I was ready to pull the trigger on one off of DH gate for a great price but don't want to deal with the hassle of returning a knife to China.

I'm waiting to hear back from Colubrid before I pull the trigger.
 
Interesting, Stedemon usually gets it right but two cases already of a very new knife having bad detents is never a good sign. I was interested in this one until I saw how high the pocket clip rides.

As for returns on DH Gate, generally you can get the seller to give you a partial refund without returning the knife, or in some cases they will just send you another one entirely without having you return the first. But sometimes you also get an obstinate retailer who will deny everything (the language barrier doesn't help) and DH Gate will have to step in.

I did actually get one retailer to send extra hardware to me at a later date, which was kind of impressive. So the support isn't non existent, but it's not great either.
 
Thanks for chiming in guy's, that's enough evidence for me to NOT place the order, seller says he's looking into it and will get back to me but I'm convinced.

I wonder if I call GPK and ask, they would be able to check their inventory?

I've asked to check for centering before, and they actually called me to tell me about how the centering was on the knife I was interested in. They're very accommodating.
 
I grabbed one from GPK. Good detent, excellent flipping action. Almost magnetic when closing, the blade gets sucked into the scales.

It had a rattle when I first handled it but it was from a loose screw retaining the carry clip. A quick tightening and it was good to go, but I may apply blue locktite.
 
Slight necro! What’s the verdict on long term with this model? Considering grabbing one
