Hey Nick, this might be a silly question, but what do you think the advantages and disadvantages are of switching from your differentially tempered O1 to your A2? Also, in your opinion, are either of them suited better (given your heat treatment) to bigger or smaller blades?

Hi Sno, for my Woodsman I recomend O-1 to my customers. I will make it in A-2. I just feel that a differently ht'd blade ( at least in a choping type) will have a longer life expectancy. I know full well that some would argue that point, but since we are talking about my knives I will stand behind that statement 100%.
For smaller blades, any of the three tool steels I work with will yeild a fantastic blade.
