newbie here...looking for a few thoughts on different steel types.

trying to educate myself a bit, as i am in the market for a new fixed blade.

That is an exstensive presentation. I dont agree 100% about everything but there is a whole lot of good info in thoose posts.

I have written a hardening guide for our Sandvik steels and in that one we also present some basics about different steels and how that affects knife properties. Please have a look if you are up to it and get our view on steels also.
