Steel heart question

An LE (Limited Edition) knife is typically Satin finished and each is numbered. Hence the Limited Edition designation.

Yes, some of the older Ergo knives had a coated finish even though they were an LE. They are still a limited edition and numbered.

There may be other models that had a coated LE version. Possibly someone more in tune with the older Busse's can chime in on this too.

Sorry for my misdirection.

Les.

Hey Bill, How ya been Bro???

SH-e, well you had a Satin version, the LE. This blade was polish at BC and usually #'d.
Next you had the coated blade like in my pic below.

Then there are those folks that chose to buy a coated blade at a cheaper cost and strip off the coating, and then polish (or not) the knife out to there desire effect.

In the sale thread I can't coment on this one, you would always be better off to contact the seller and have then clarify.

Hope this helps!

Bill,

There was a set of Desert Ergo's which were tan coated and numbered.
BM-E, SH-E, & NO-E.
The ones I had had the Raptor Handles and were the most comfortable Ergo's I've handled.

You will have to find out from the seller if it was a coated "LE" before it got stripped (the serial number would still be there if it was just stripped, if it also has been sanded on, maybe not) or if they are just calling it a "LE" because it has satin finish. I don't remember a satin finish SH-E "LE" from Busse, but I could be wrong.

you remember correctly cuz. All the E handle LE's were desert coated. And they all came with a double cut spine finish. 300 of each.
