Does anyone happen to know what kind of steel was used in older Normark Fillet knives? I recently found one (yes, literally found, as in on the side of the road) and really liked the blade strength and edge-taking capabilities. I found a picture on google that looks exactly the same as mine, and it says it is a vintage 1967 knife. The sheath does say N Corp 1967, or at least that's what it looks like the year is. The lettering is kinda worn down. Any information would be appreciated.

I don't think they're all actually made in 1967, just the copyright /patent mark was granted in 1967. They were probably made all the way into the early 1980s when they stopped using leather for the sheaths.

It should be Sandvik stainless, perfect for filleting fish and easy edge to take care of. You can get them for $10-12 on fleaBay.
