Just wondering what steel will be used in the soon to be released OD 2.
I was going to pre-order a couple from yourcornerstore and saw the steel listed as 8crmov13 (the steel Spyderco uses in its Byrd line), Just an error? Thanks.

OD-2 is the chive sized version of the OD-1, to be made in China. Polyamide scales with 8something steel IIRC.

As far as I know, 8crmov13 steel and its kin are Chinese steels. Which makes sense, since the Byrd line and the OD-2 are made in China. Just like VG-10 is almost always seen on a Japanese knife (obviously there are exceptions, based on manufacturers' locations, but I think VG-10 is always exported from Japan).

+1 on what RR said. That has been my experience as well.
