I would love some review on performance of their(LM Wave and SAK Spirit) steels, especially in area of toughness, rust and corrosion.

All comments are welcome, but comments from ppl who own both are really in need here!

Help out here ppl.

Are you asking about Leatherman’s 420hc or the 154cm/s30v they use on the charge stuff?

By in large I really like the way victorinox does there knife blades.

Vic blades are not an Uber snob steel , but they are a snap to sharpen , and hold an edge for a reasonable timespan .

Leatherman steel is 420HC. It is really strong, but it has a high carbon content and a bead blasted finish. This means that I will chip rather then bend and it can rust if you don't keep up with it. The Victorinox steel is very soft and shiny. This means that I doesn't hold an edge like Leatherman's 154cm/S30v blade steel and the steel will bend rather then chip so it makes a good utility tool. The Victorinox steel is also pretty much rust proof as well.
