I just got my steel mounted AK made by Durba! It is 12 inches long and almost 1/2 inch thick and just under 2 inches wide. The edge is still very thin for how short and thick the blade is overall. It is by far the sharpest khukuri I have ever seen right out of the box!!! It is shaving sharp the whole length of the edge! The steel fittings are like a mirror and the fit and finnish is outstanding!!!
This is my first steel mounted khukuri and it won't be my last! I think the steel fittings look great and make the knife that much tougher. At 12 inches it is a little small but is still a good carry rig and will work just fine. All I will say is that my next order will be with steel fittings!
