Steel or aluminum

OK, I'm new to the forum and I like tactical pens. Unfortunately there are very few tactical pens available locally. Therefore I have enjoyed peoples comments about "other" pens that they carry that could be used for defensive purposes. But I have no idea how someone determines that a pen is made out of stainless steel or aircraft grade aluminum. How do I tell?

And if anybody out there has a free tactical pen that needs a new home, please let me know! (I generally check here once a week.) Thanks!

Put a magnet against it.

BTW if you really believe that a pen can be "tactical"...

get a decent parker fountain pen. Cost less, not considered a weapon but more dangerous than most "Tactical Pens"

I don't really like "tactical" pens, just not my cup of tea. However, I do like sharpies, and especially their stainless steel version :) It's more "cool" than "tacticool" imo.

I have several Tuffwriter pens. They are super tough and write really well. I personally like the fact that the pen's top unscrews off. People are less likely to walk off with your pen without the top. Stay with the smaller version; it doesn't stand out like the standard model. The black or silver basically disappears in your shirt pocket and goes unnoticed by the sheeple of the world. In all honesty, I can't speak for their new batch of clicky pens, but I bet they are impressive.
