Hey Y'all,

So maybe this has been covered before if so please excuse my redundancy;)

I just got my first Busse a couple days before, thanks to Vox. A Satin Game Warden.

It's a nice little knife I really like the design of the handle, wide so you can cut with it and it won't dig into your palm.

Anyway of course I'm thinking sheath. I see the Busse store sells sort of a simple pouch sheath for a reasonable price and some other various custom options as well.

So I was kinda thinking sheath with a loop for a firesteel. But when I tried it out with a firesteel it seemed REALLY hard to get to spark.

When I used the spine it seemed to just skate off. When I used the edge which I don't really like to do it sparked slightly better but still not like most of my other carbon or my stainless VG10 blade:confused:

So I was wondering I know they use a special steel for these knives does it have some special makeup that makes it not as firesteel friendly? Or is there a slight bevel on the edge of the spine that is making it skate off?

It's no biggie if it won't work well with a firesteel, but if there's some mod that can be done like squaring off the spine a bit or something I might go for it so I thought I'd ask.

Not sure your meaning?

Doing it like I do for other blades the square edge of the spine against that firesteel. And then when I used the edge pretty much the edge perpendicular to the firesteel.

Try holding the edge at an angle as if you were slicing the firesteel, but use the choil instead.

Firesteels work fine with INFI... at least for me. Not sure what is going wrong for you, but the problem is not the composition of the steel. Composition of a firesteel striker doesn't really matter. It just has to be hard, with a sharp edge. It can be steel, glass, rock, etc.

Thanks also to you Evo, I'll try my larger firesteel and see if it makes a difference.
