I know in the early days the steel was 420? Then Buck had a period in the 80’s where they used 425A? What is 425A?
Eventually they returned to 420 so what was the reason to switch back.
Did they ever experiment with any other steels for their “budget” Affordable knives?

Read the first link 6 pages and i think i will have burred vision for a few days and a headache thanks to that Martian guy.
I noticed no comment was made for the main reason i carry a knife. Self defense. If i can deploy it and eliminate a threat/threats to my life in short order than thats all i ask. Don’t think the blade steel will dull enough for me to worry.
