W Whoever Wherever Joined Nov 17, 2006 Messages 1,124 Mar 1, 2007 #3 1095 is carbon and needs to be dried and oiled. D2 is not stainless but is damn close and holds a wicked edge. Both are nice steels. Go to AG russels webpage and read the articles under knife dictionary. Good info in just a couple short articles.
