Steel recommendation

I am hoping some of you can share a quick recommendation based on what I will be using my blade for.

I have looked into differenct steels quite a bit, but there are so many options that I am still confused as to what will suit me best.

What I want needs to fit this criteria.
I will be using it everyday. It will be on my person and come out of pocket between 10-20 times a day.
It will be used to cut various tapes, but usually against other material such as PVC, metals, lead, concrete.
It will also be used to cut rope, and must be done in one swipe.
It will also be used a little for cable preparation (through rubber insulation, blade pressed against copper conductors of medium voltage cables)
I have a Wicked Edge set up at work and have a guy in the office to sharpen it everyday if need be, so while it has to be extremely sharp, it doesn't have to stay that way for long.
It will be handled carelessly and tossed around, left on the ground/mud, rinsed off and put back in my pocket and used as a tool, but it will not be used to pry anything or used for something a knife is not meant to do.
Corrosive resistance and rust resistance I don't think are nearly as important as it's ability to get scary sharp.

I like the size and look of the benchmade 940 as well as the 943, and both are available in different steels.
I also like some of the spyderco models which are made in almost everything.
I am trying to keep my purchase around $200 or less.

So what do you think?
M390, s30V, v-10, D2, 154CM, Aus8? Which one, hands down, gets the sharpest? If they can all get equally as sharp, which one gets there the easiest?
All seem to be available in one fashion or another on the knives I am looking at.
Thanks,
Greg
