Is there a thread or a website you guys could point me to as sort of a primer on the different steels? I understand there to be 1095, S30V, ATS-34, AUS8? as some of the more common ones for knives.
Or maybe someone could explain the difference here?
To be clear, I'm not asking which steel is BETTER. I don't want to start that whole thing. I'm just asking what are the pros and cons for each steel. Is there a steel that is used more often than the others for knives? Are all the steels available in the US or are some imported?
