Hi Friends,
I am currently looking for a steel supplier closer to our location. Admiral Steel has great pricing on large quantities of spring steel, but I’d like to find a supplier closer to where I’m out of, so the drive isn’t so long.

I’m out of Springfield MO. Surrounding areas like Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Kansas would even be better than Illinois. Spring steel, or even 1060 carbon steel.

Any referrals is appreciated.

Unless you're ordering a hundred pounds at a time or something, shipping is likely to be cheaper than the time/gas driving back and forth to pick it up, unless it's real close.
 
Archer I know there used to be a spring shop South of I-44 at Joplin on old 71 that sold bar stoclk. There is also a spring place West of Vinita,Oklahoma on old 66. Don't have any names just they used to be there 10 years ago.
 
Hey all. It took a lot of calls, but I was able to find a spring steel supplier nearer to me. 1095 annealed spring steel (great for swords and holding an edge), 24" by 96" 3/16 thick sheets with comparable prices to Admiral. Lapham Hickey Steel. They are based out of Chicago, but have a location about 3 1/2 hours from me (Madison Illinois).
