I’m new to knife making and live in Canada. I will be traveling to North Dakota and Minnesota this coming week and would like to source somewhere that sells higher carbon steel, 15n20 and powdered steel as this is very hard to find where I’m from.

Any help with possible resellers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wade

Didn't you have another thread about this? Also try in the knifemakers section, you will probably have better luck.

@Alpha Knife Supply

This guys have FAST shipping and a wonderful range of steels from exotic to high carbon and powder steels. All are usually sold in 1.5" width to 12" length up to 24" length in various thicknesses. So it's the best place to try new steels without having to buy a ton.
They have a great selection from high carbon steels like the new "Spicy" White 26C3 to Bohler M390 to Zapp Z- tuff and also have the latest nitrogen steels like Vanax Superclean.

@Aldo Bruno at New Jersey Steel Baron has the best prices on bulks high carbon steels sold in long pieces up to 48" in various width and thickness like 1095, 52100 and W2 and AEBL and Nitro V.

@nsm Niagara Specialty Metal is the place to order any of the high wear Crucible brand steels from CPM154 through CPM S110v and more.

This is where a lot of steels are rolled out but they sell Crucible brand steels here.

They sell in various thicknesses and sizes usually from 34-36" length only and have options for buying with mill scale or paying more for surface finishing.

I spent about 2 minutes on google and found 3 places that sold 15n20, m4 and o1 in Canada. A similar search should net a dozen or more retailers in the states... good luck.

Thanks. There are a couple in Canada but supply is always questionable and I figure if I’m driving down I might as well pickup and save on the shipping.
