Guys,
I'm hoping y'all can give me an answer to this question, otherwise I'll have to break down and get on the phone.
Does anyone know what kind of steel is used to make shredder blades? So far I've found three, and I seem to recall that there're several more laying around. They've gotta be some variety of carbon steel, I'm thinking. If you need measurements, let me know and I'll drive out and check. They were ground back a ways, but there's still a lot of good steel on them. I believe they're about three-quarters of an inch thick, and maybe fifteen inches long, if that helps.
