Steel Type

Anyone know anything about Z60CDV14 STAINLESS STEEL, is this a decent steel?

All steels are "decent". I've never seen an indecent steel.
A better way to phrase the question would be, "Would Z60CDV14 be a good choice for a (insert usage here) blade?"

Z60CDV14 should have good corrosion resistance. It should take a fine edge and hold it somewhat less well than 440C. And hold it maybe a bit less well than AUS8 if both were tempered to exactly the same hardness.

I have found it referenced on several web sites. It looks to have a composition between that of AUS6 and AUS8.

If heat treated properly it should be very nice for a medium use EDC blade. By "Medium use" I mean you are not going to cut cardboard all day long with it with out stopping to sharpen it.

i don't consider myself a steel snob but ca'nt see use of the alloys with carbon less than .85 & up. i realize companies turning out 10000s of knives a day like the ease of stamping out lots of cheap knives
in fairness newbies need to start with 15 to 20$ knives.
we ca'nt all drive porsches guess i've forgotten the kids using blades for scew drivers & opening paint cans.
