has anybody had any good experiences with these knifes....i have done a search of the forums and can't find anything

Slide over to the traditional forum and search under Warrior, they've been talked about some there.

They are typically some of the better Chinese import pocketknives, quality tends to be a little higher than Rough Rider knives.

They are made by frost cutlery which not many people like but for the money they are really very nice knives in their catagory....like rough rider, some of the models are actually very nice for the price...not as nice as a queen, case, or other classic companies that make similar knives, but the price reflects that...I don't think you will be dissapointed with them...

I ordered an Autumn's Entrance" set from the TV show over the weekend and got them yesterday. I plan on doing a review shortly, but here are my first impressions.

-Bent Creek Congress-
Fit and finish is amazing. All blades have half stops, with excellent walk and talk. Blades are very thin (good thing). This knife could not be made better by anyone.

-Wrangler-
F&F, W&T are the same. No half stops. Main blade is big and thick, with 2 smaller blades nice and thin. Nail nicks are a little shallow for my taste, otherwise excellent.

-Locking Copperhead-
F&F, W&T are the same. Both blades are thick. Small blade has half stop. Large blade locks, and unlocks by depressing small blade. I don't like the design. It seems odd to me to have a locking blade that unlocks when you tighten your grip. That said, others make this knife too.

-Itallion Stallion-
This is a framelock stilletto. I have seen this knife under the Boker brand and wondered why it would be included in the Steel Warrior brand. It is far from traditional. That said, excellent knife. Locks up like a vault. Zero blade play. Has a belt clip for tip up carry, and can be waved from my jeans pocket. Would have been easier to wave if they would have turned the guard around, but otherwise excellent.

-Buck Skinner-
This is a fixed blade. It is an almost exact copy of a Marble's Trailcraft. Blade is flat ground other than convexed. A couple of nicks in the brass, where the spacers are, otherwise fit and finish is excellent. This knife is so nice, I ordered a real Marble's (Woodcraft) to compare it to. This is a fantastic looking knife. The handle is beautiful. The sheath sucks.

-Coon Hunter-
I had no doubt that I would hate this knife when I saw it in the picture. It is hollow ground and has a small handle. I was pleasantly suprised when I put it in my hand. It fits like a glove. It's short and stout, and handles like a dream Of course fit and finish are superb. Again, the sheath sucks.

---Overall Impressions---
Frost Cutlery sells some of the worst knives in the world. Everything I've ever seen from them was junk. The Steel Warrior (and Frost Family) line is different. These knives are being built by people who know what they are doing. They are made in China, and that is thier only shortcoming.

kiahs-please post some pictures
My camera's batteries are dead. I'll charge them and post some pics tomorrow.
Here's a stock pic from the website for now.

ahhhh you guys are great, i am kind of an impulse buyer(i admit it), and i saw this on a certain online auction site and thought to myself, for 8 dollars whats to lose.....i got a trapper and if it works out i'd like to get a toothpick....i have a few cases, but they are box queens cause you never know what they might be worth one day, and theses are a great looking imitation that i figure i can use and lose with no remorse...if anyone else is interested...

this is the only review i could find and the pictures and comments really impressed me, this may be the poor man's case perhaps?????

Bought a peanut for my son about two years ago. He saw it on line and liked it because it was blue. I told him that it might not be a very good knife, but it was only 8 or 9 dollars. Gotta say when it showed up I was actually impressed. Fit and finish was great, blades have great snap and it is actually very sharp.

And would buy more :)

For the price they are an awesome deal. Both my Trapper and large Congress are way better than the price would indicate. Fit and finish were pretty great and they came SHARP.

Go ahead a buy one, you'll see. Nothing like getting a good knife for a Great price ! ! !

I bought one of the lockback whittlers, the one that looks like the Case Tony Bose lockback whittler. It was less than $15 so I thought I'd try one, as they looked fascinating with that big thick tanged locking blade in the front. Anyways. It was not a good knife. The springs were soft on both secondary blades, just limp. The lock wouldn't hold on the main blade. I carried the knife back to the knife shop, and the owner gave me another one as a replacement. It seemed better, the secondary blades had a bit better action, although still not up to the standards of most good knives, but the lock held on the main blade. Until I got home. I opened and closed the knife a few dozen times because the action was gritty and rough, and then the lock wouldn't hold. Just poorly fitted parts. I carried it back. Here's the sad part of the story. The owner of the knife shop wouldn't give me another replacement, and accused me of breaking them. I was a long, long time customer, had bought several hundred dollars worth of knives from this guy, and had steered many others to his shop for knives, as he had a huge selection. After several minutes of arguing strenuously, he finally agreed to give me store credit, and I added ten dollars to the price of the Steel Warrior and bought a Camillus. I then told him that it was awfully crappy business practice to lose a long time customer over a ten dollar piece of junk from China, turned around and walked out the door and haven't been back there in 9 months. My first and last Steel Warrior, and first and last time to get treated like a dirtbag by someone who had already made tons of money off of me and was so cheap that the act of making a ten dollar knife right was more than they could abide. Oh well, it saves me gas driving up to Hartselle. :o

Tricker - I think Kiahs did a great job on reviewing these - These are great carrying knives. I live here in Concord, CA, where there are a lot of ranches, etc. A lot of people out here carry these, and put their good American-made knives away, to save the wear & tear on them.

I bought a Steel Warrior lockback, and a congress, and liked them both. Their FF & W&T (to quote Kiahs) are fantastic. For the price, you could find a lot worse.

thx - cpr
