I purchased this knife approximately 7 years ago and the knife was discontinued almost immediately because of certain restrictions, any information on the reason for discontinuing this knife would be appreciated

I don’t know about any particular “restrictions” of the knife itself for the model being discontinued, nor could I find any specific information. It was a pretty standard framelock, and similar to others in their line, so I can’t think of anything unusual about it worth of more legal scrutiny than others, but I could be wrong.

That said, when most brands discontinue models, the true culprit is usually lack of demand leading to poor sales, or some other issue which caused the manufacturer to drop it from their line.

It could be due to changing manufacturers. It also could be due to some states have restrictions for blade length and they are dropping off the model
because retailers as Knife Center have issue sending the knife to particular state.
Steel Will being around since 2014 and they have some Russian money behind it, it's legitimate company with mostly Chinese designed models,
and very good quality Chinese manufacturing..
Originally head quarter and distributer was in Canada for the North and South America, now they are almost everywhere.
Their knives are well designed but nothing special. Still very good quality and decent designs, decent steels.
They have nice edc models with D2 priced around $40.
Your model is very nice but the blade length is listed 4.3" and maybe this is the issue when selling it,
US is probably their largest market and they have to comply with some regulations.
