I would appreciate a comparison from users of these two knives. I'm very familar with D2 steel (Cutjack) but not with 14C28N(Ruike). What is the carbon content on 14C28N? Is it a good edge holder and how hard to sharpen? I trying to decide on getting either the Cutjack or the Ruike Beta Plus. Does the Ruike use ball bearing pivots? Can the pivot be adjusted for tension on opening? Any evaluation between the two would be much appreciated.
Thanks

14c28n is great - easy to sharpen - and very stainless. The carbon is low, at around only 0.6%, but it's also got nitrogen, which changes the usual properties of steel. They get 58-60 hardness.

The other info you want is all on Ruike's website -> http://www.ruikeknives.com/proshow-166-2-22-22-100-2.html

D2 will likely hold an edge longer, but will be more pain to sharpen and be more prone to chipping

I like 14c28n. It is pretty tough for stainless and holds a decent edge. Extremely easy to sharpen. Ruike does a nice job with it.

I got a Ruike P108. Dang good knife for 40 dollars, probably one of the best budget knives out there. As far as 14c28n goes, I would say it's virtually as easy to sharpen as Aus 8 yet holds its edge a good bit longer plus it's very corrosion resistant. I have a Cutjack, and while it's a good knife, I personally prefer the Ruike.

I finally pulled the trigger on a Cutjack. Really like it. Good all around EDC. Was a bit tight opening, but some oil and slight loosening of the pivot took care of that. My only "complaint" (something I don't like) is that huge choil; just a waste of cutting edge IMHO. I'd prefer it without the choil. Love D2 (my favorite) steel. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a general purpose EDC.

I just got the Cutjack Mini to join my Modus. I like the design, the bright handles, and the D2.
