I am really stoked that I already got the all new Steel Will Modus F25-71 in carbon fiber.
As far as I know the knife is still on pre-order on most websites and on the Steel Will website it is not available yet.
My first impressions of the knife are very good. The size is exactely the same as the ZT 0770cf.
In hand the knife feels very comfortable and light weight. So far I can’t feel any hot spots. All corners and the handles are nicely chamfered and there are no sharp edges. The backspacer stands out due to its bright orange color. Like it!!! There is jimping on the backspacer which feels comfortable, jimping on the flipper tab, the liner and on the tumb ramp. All practical in use.
The steel which is used is one of my favorites; Bohler M390. Stays sharp for a very long time, very rust resistant and sharpens easily. The handles have one recessed liner on the lock side. The other side is just one thick slab of carbon fiber. All feels very ridged. The carbon fiber has a glossy almost slick finish with a mat chamfered finish. Never seen it before!
The blade shape a modified sheepsfoot with a strong tip. It runs on ballbearings and flips like a king! The only downside I could find is the centering which is a little off. I think I can fix that easily. The sharpness is quite good out of the box, but as every knife I will sharpen it on the Wicked Edge to a mirror polish.
Ow, and the clip is just a normal steel clip which does its job. It rides fairly deep in the pocket ans sticks out just a little bit. 9 out 10!
Here are some pictures!
