I was throwing my ASH1SE yesterday and rolled the edge in a couple spots near the point. If I'm going to steel those rolls out, do you recommend hard pressure against the steel for fewer passes, or a light touch with however many passes it takes to realign the edge? I have a smooth steel.

I suggest lighter strokes. Harder strokes near the tip seem to have a rounding effect in my experience.

Mike, what are ya doing throwing an ASH1? It cannot throw very good? Can it? Lets see some pics of what you were throwing at and the damage.:D

I was out in the woods (working an enduro checkpoint, and did some throwing during downtime) and didn't take any photos. I actually did not enjoy throwing the ASH1 after 30-40 throws because my grip left the butt rubbing my hand uncomfortably on release. It was a pretty consistent thrower though, and sunk in with authority! I think the BATAC will throw better. I'll use it next time and be sure to get it on tape or in photos.

The rolled bits aren't at the edge but within 2-3 inches of it, and of course they came from missing. New throwing knife + new terrain meant I had to figure out the right distance and that took a few tries...

Someday I'll learn the no-spin technique so I don't have to worry about misses any more. :D

Huh huh, huh huh. He said butt-rub. (LOL)

I can't imagine it being that bad to throw. . . but I don't dare toss my custom-handled ones. (WUSSY!!!) My SHSHII tosses fine.

I knew that second sentence was going to get me in trouble. Thanks for (oh so quickly) getting that out of the way, Dennis. :D

Mikey, When your at a race like that you have to take pics. Im an old x-country/motocross racer from when I was knee high to a grass hopper. I even did a lot of iceracing. I would love to see some of your race pics.

Ah, but I did take pics! I'm the club photographer after all.

2007 Black Bear Enduro, Tahuya State Forest

It was a tough pictures day for me...darker in the woods than usual, and I was messing around too much with a new lens, but I got some good ones.

I love it when I'm out there and the riders show off for the camera:

Thats good stuff. Man I miss that.
MIght have to sell some Infi and go buy a new bike!:D Im really liking the new KTM's and the new Huskys.

Cool man, whatever gets ya out into the great outdoors!

I had a KTM 250EXC but it was too much bike for me , and I had a Husky SMR510 (supermoto) just last year which was a blast...I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Husky for the trails, though now I'm down to two Yamahas - a YZ250F and a beater YZ125. I love knives and all, but I couldn't imagine life without a bike of some sort.
