Where can I learn the basics about all these different steels like cm154, aus 2-8, vg10, sv30 ?

I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't find it.

Just a small note regarding blade steel. Proper heat treating is very important in taking advantage of any steel's potential characteristics. A poorly heat treated super steel is worse than a well heat treated "average" steel.
