Gentlemen:

I built this knife for the fella that wants to give the lady in his life a special knife....hence, the Honey Knife. If you decide to keep the knife, I recommend you call it a Steingass Modified New York Special in deer camp. :D I basically whittled down a New York Special by removing the upper guard, downsizing the handle and blade, and finally a single hollow ground blade rather than the double hollow ground fighter blade. The W-2 blade was hand rubbed to 1200 grit and etched to reveal a vivid hamon line.

.100" W-2 stock
HT to Rc 59-60
Satanite differential HT
Parks 50 quench
7" OAL
3 1/4" hollow ground blade
Vivid hamon line
Thumb serrations on spine
Pinned/soldered guard
Exhibition grade Desert Ironwood Burl scales
Tapered tang with black liners
416 stainless guard/tube
Mosaic pins
R or L sheath (please specify)

Thats a beautiful knife. Is the hamon line created from differential tempering by applying heat to the spine after hardening? I hope that made sense Im pretty new to this. nice buck also.

Thanks for the kind words - the hamon line was created by differentially heat treating with clay then Parks 50 quench.
