Anyone have pictures of your Warner stencil making boxes? I've got to make one and looking for some ideas.

Thanks --

Mike , I took an old scanner , gutted it and put my light inside. It works great and took very little time to revamp. If you have an old out obsolete scanner it is a quick turnover. Been using mine for about 1 - 1/2 yrs with no issues

I was actually thinking about that, but wasn't sure where to get a little old scanner. That or just using an ammo can. :D

Yeah , I guess having a scrap scanner would be a prerequisite to starting that project wouldn't it :) I thought I would mention it anyway

I'll have to look them up . . .

Coldwood -- The stencil "light box" is used to make your own stencils for etching.

This is a project I've though about quite a bit. What are you guys using for the light source? Are you using regular full-spectrum flourescent lights and just waiting a long time, or have you found an inexpensive 365nm light source?

The Warner tutorial says to use a fluorescent white light and as high as you can get. I guess I'll be hitting up lowes or home depot.

Thanks Burchtree. It sounds like a technology beyond my abilities ;) I use a scanner a lot, just curious.

Ok, that makes sense. You can get away with a very low-wattage light IF it's the right wavelength of UV (365nm). If you're using a white flourescent you have 365nm light in it, but you're not filtering out the rest and the bulb isn't optimized to produce light in the proper bit of the spectrum. I'd be willing to bet though that a "blacklight" bulb would work better/faster since it should have more light being emitted at close to the correct wavelength.

One of these days I have to get off of my butt and try this.

I found a cheap black light flouresent tube that ran on 12 v dc at an auto parts store for 10 bucks. I was for pimping your ride.
