I'm going through the South African gun magazine Man/Magnum, which I have going back to the 1st one in 1976. Thought I would check out the 1983/1984 ones to see what I could find on CR knives, and found this article so far from 1983.
I still need to check 1984 and onwards, as I think there were a lot of adverts and articles on these knives, tracing the history.
Not sure if this article has been posted before, but perhaps some collectors of the early ones will get a kick out of it. I'll post the others as I find them. Like to see what the early MK III's and IV's appear...
Think you will all get a kick out of the first 2 sentences of the last paragraph :-)

Very cool. Great idea too. I have an older CRK article that I was just scanning in yesterday as well.

Here's an advert for a Chris Reeve knife club, from October 1986. There is also an article on what makes a good survival knife, but not much new info in there.
FYI - The Jereboam at R299 back then is about $20 at today's exchange rate. :(

Thank you for sharing the information Brian! I have 2 magazine books about Sebenza, I want to collect more like these.

Thanks! I find this very interesting. I lived in South-Africa at the time and remember reading about CRK knives more than once in Man Magnum. As a teenager I couldn't afford them unfortuantely!

I hope it's ok to post this here. It's not a fixed blade, but history nonetheless.

Thanks! Great info. Also told me about what I paid for my Jereboam 2 back in 1986. Yes, I still have it.

In the Sebenza article, it is cool to see the NICA knife that I have one of the 400. Cool!

If you guys would, please post this in the CRK History Timeline. That way it will be preserved at the top with the rest of the CRK History and not be buried in posts several pages back over time. Please and Thank You...!!!

Thanks for sharing.. I have never seen some of these models... These are the first true customs of Mr. Reeve...
My God, that dagger in the 2nd photo is MAGNIFICENT!!! Probably it is a one-of-a-kind? I think yes.. Amazing, always jump out new models that I never seen before...

In the first article, they called him Chris Reeves. Bet he wasn't thrilled about that. Cool article, though.

I love the misspelled Morse Code knife and the story behind it!! Thanks for sharing these articles:thumbup:
