Stepdrills/Piloted counterbores

Hi Folks, Is there a need out there for Custom stepdrills with no minimum quantity, made to any size? These would be professional quality with tight tolerances.
I am considering taking the plunge for the equipment but would like a little feedback to see if there is a need. I am not sure what the pricing would be but believe they would be comparable to other tooling such as endmills etc.
