My stepfather pulled out an old Buck 110 that he said his dad bought in the late 70's or early 80's. I don't know how you'd date it, but either way it's pretty cool. He says it's one of two things of his father's that he has.

It's tight to get it open and closed. It needs to be oiled up and sharpened bad!

I told him to call Buck and send it to them to let them do a once over on it. Has anyone ever sent an old beat up knife back to the factory?

im trying to post the photos but it won't let me do it from my phone for some reason! ***this space saved for photos***

Bulldog, welcome.
Read the info. at the top about posting photos. It may help.
Can you tell us the stamping on your Father's 110? Thanks, DM

Does it look like any of these? I know the Buck 110 is a staple of buck and the model has been around for a very long time. I have an old Browning 4018F lock back that was produced in the 1970's - I know the Buck 110 was around at the same time. I don't know much about the buck 110 - I wasn't around for the 70's. Maybe you could ask one of these folks. They seem to have knowledge about "versions" of the early model 110's.

Thanks guys, I've been on a dying iPhone this evening and he broke it out at the table during our Christmas visit. It says "BUCK" and has ".110." Under that. I'm seeing info saying maybe 1974-1980? Looks like a great knife. When I get to my computer I'll read through the photo stuff and get a photo and closeup posted.

Yes, that's a 2 dot. It will have a 'usa' under the 110. Your in the general time frame but if you'll describe the number of pins (brass and stainless) we can get closer. DM

Great  I'd like to see it. I bet it is worth a pretty penny more than it costed the buyer originally.
