Hello, new to this group - I do not know if I can reach these gentlemen, Bartleby and Jack Black - They were discussing a company, namely, Stephenson & Wilson from Sheffield. I need to learn more as I have a vintage letter opener which I am trying to research - it has a knife affixed to it and there is a stamp on part of this unit that reads, “Stephenson & Wilson.” I joined an Antique group on Facebook however many people have sent me tips and photos which are clearly of a more recently made letter opener, knife assembly - I know I have a much older item and need more information please- it is 9 and 1/4” long, has either French Ivory on it which has been rivoted to the steel - there is Stephenson & Wilson stamped into the knife blade portion and another stamp (trying to read it with these old eyes) that is stamped on letter opener part of unit. If you can help me in anyway, especially the 2 people I identified who came up on my search, I would greatly appreciate it. I don’t know how to add photos but will learn hopefully from another member and can of course send to you - thank you

Hello, that discussion was a long time ago, can you provide a link to the thread please, and photos of the letter-opener(s)? If you're not sure how to post photos, there's a Technical sub-forum here, where you can practice :thumbsup:

Yes, please as any assistance would be appreciated- I am not too tech-savvy in the least and only have a couple to 3 photos of it and photos of the thread between those 2 gentlemen- I don’t know how to find that particular thread but can perhaps try and teach myself in order to navigate same.

There are instructions on how to post images on my profile page. See if the procedure I show there will work for you.
