Just picked this one up on eBay and I’m awaiting delivery. The seller purchased it on Bladeforums about 10 years ago. The handle looked comfortable and I liked the blade shape. Grind looks good, but maybe not great- hard to tell with low res pics and patina. The false edge doesn’t appear to meet perfectly, but that might be a photo artifact. He wasn’t sure if the scales are G10 or Micarta, but thought the color was Jade. Liners appear to be black. I’m familiar with Jade G10, so I kind of disregarded it- but then I found a couple of listings with “glacial blue jade” G10 that looked very much like the same color. Those were made by Surls, and didn’t otherwise look like this knife. Seller couldn’t remember the maker’s name, only that it was a US shop. He said the steel was A2, but I don’t know how certain he was about that. I asked for pictures of the spine and saw that the tang was tapered. That was enough of a proxy for quality (or at least effort) that I pulled the trigger at $110 shipped. I’ve searched old listings a million different ways, but I haven’t come up with anything likely enough for me to e-mail a maker and ask if it’s their work. Any ideas?
