I just aquired an SFNO (favorite Busse blade). Were there any sterile SFNO's????? I think that after i use this for a while I might send it in to get a coating. I have never sent anything in, how long does it usually take to have this done?

Best thing to do is email the shop. Expect a delay, as things are a little crazy over there, getting ready for Blade.

I might coat it might not, I just like the added protection the coating provides...rust is a blades worst enemy. This thing is really sweet though. I will split some logs with this over the long weekend. I like my HR alot but this thing is just awesome, great look and feel.

Does anyone know if there were any sterile SFNO's, maybe a small Mil. overrun????

I dont think Ive seen a DC or Satin finish SFNO with a logo. Infi doesnt need the added protection of a coating.

I'm pretty sure that my DC one was sterile. I traded it away last year but I don't believe it had the logo

DC with Mag handles
:D:D

Rust should not be a concern with uncoated INFI. The least amount of common sense and care is more than sufficient to keep rust at bay for as long as that knife will last.

The bigger question here is: How in the heck did you find an SFNO? I've been looking for a while.

I wouldn't coat it, especially if it's double cut.

Good snag. If I hadn't been out of town, I'd have been on top of that one.

No way I'd coat that blade.

when i ordered my SFNO (satin/black linen magnum scales),
I had called the shop and asked about the Busse logo being laser etched on the blade and was told(I dont remember who) that the blades were being made sterile unless the Busse Logo was requested to be laser etched , so maybe this is just one of the ones that went out to the customer that didnt request the Busse Logo.

here is an older pic of mine,, but i had to request the Busse Logo to be laser etched on it:eek:

I had missed the last two that went on sale, just so happened to be browsing the for sale ads, and there she was. I just got lucky!

mine is coated and sterile. come to think of it, I think most of those that Iv'e seen are sterile.

Most of the SFNO are what I've seen sterile. It's pretty rare to find one with a logo. My standard 2 SFNO's are both sterile.

I'll have to take a pic of the whole bunch sometime soon. This would be my first sterile Busse. No, I lied. My skeleton key is my first sterile busse, not much room for a logo there.
