Folks, I need your help....actually my friend needs it.
He just bought a Strider SNG folder with a sterile blade.
Do any of you know some history about a sterile release of Striders?
Is it common, or rare...whatever.

Thank you, Peter

The closest thing to a "sterile" I have seen is in this thread, but the blade is still marked "Strider".

Thanks,
When I meant "sterile", there's no logo/brandname on the blade.
the finish is flamed.

Post pics. I doesn't exist until it's documented.

There is a Strider run forum that would be your best bet to i.d. the knife. Who knows, maybe it came from a contract run that was issued. As a pilferable durable, it would be easy to lose without a serial number.

Or, somebody just forgot to stamp that blade, although with three different marks - Strider, the FWP, and S30V, it would be improbable.

This my first post here though I'm a frequent visitor. I have one of these sterile SNGs as well... Blade is unstamped, no "Strider" mark, no little emblem. However, the handle is flamed ti and it has the tiger stripes. It even came in the little plastic bag like my other stiders (a pt and another SNG). Other than that, I don't know anything else except that it's exactly the same in all other aspects to my other SNG. The guys over at badlands might know something more.

Yes , they existed , a friend bought one from a dealer at the Vegas show a few years back , these were for a MIL unit and were not supposed to be for CIV. Josh traded him a brand new SnG for his older sterile one .

i too have heard tell of sterile strider SnG's, havent ever seen one though IIRC i have seen pics, dont think they are very common.

Prolly Military production contract number got cut or filled with a few more knives than they had anticipated or something like that. Very cool though yeah its worth alot more id say

One pic made it. Yay! Looks sterile from what I see- and looks like a real Strider.

As has been said, probably contract overruns, or more likely, pilfered from the issued unit.

I'd say, if you plan on using the knife, trade it to a collector for another SnG + cash. cool and interesting knife btw.

I have a sterile MSC. Mick said sometimes they slip by with out getting marked. no big deal. doesnt make it any more valuable

Thanks for everybody.
Actually my friend's concern was about more of the origin(ality) of the knife, than value.
