I am at a crossroads. I was leaning towards the Adventure Opt because I was thinking I can use this in any type of bottle (GI Canteen, Nalgene, Hydroflask, and so on). It is small and runs on batteries. I kinda feel the batteries are a benefit in some ways because you could take spares if you needed them. However they are expensive and the size is not as easy to find...although not horrible to find either!! So the battery option is both a plus and a minus! A friend just got back from libera where she took her All Clear there on its first charge for 11 days using it 2x a day and never ran out of battery! That is pretty impressive. I do like the design of the All Clear for it is really not that much better than a normal bottle but you are now tied to that bottle or any other CamelBak that is close to it. I think the All Clear is easier to use also. But it is still a toss up!! So I am stuck??

Tough call. That CamelBak unit is looking good....eleven days is impressive for sure, and I like that the bottle can be used even when there's no need for the UV lid. And for an extra $15 you can get a filter to take out the chunks. I might have to get one. Not to be a broken record (while actually being one and in denial) I do suggest some sort of chemical disinfection along with UV.
