Whatever happened to it? Were they Carbon V, or what? What are the chances of these going back into production again? It was a really great concept.

And my most important question: Among all your resources, is there any longtime CS dealer anywhere that you know of who might still have one of these in stock somewhere, collecting dust?

Thanks,
Chris

"President Clinton learned there were 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. Since Clinton was so upset with ranchers' protests over his grazing policies, he told U.S. Secretary of Interior Bruce Babbitt to fire half the cattle guards immediately. Before Babbitt could proceed with the President's wishes, Colorado representative Pat Schroeder intervened with a request that before any were fired, they would be given six months of retraining."

Production was discontinued due to a manufacturing problem. They will probably not come back. Not likely that you will find any at a dealer. Maybe from a private party at a knife show thoug.

I've seen them pop up on Ebay every so often....
Now I've been reminded of the Warlord...
gotta go post a new topic!!!

Steve, thanks for the info. I had read a comment on a website before that they were rather brittle and tended to break at the blade & handle juncture.

OK, here's where I crassly display my ignorance on tempering, but wouldn't it be possible and relatively inexpensive to re-temper it in such a way that it is less prone to break, but still hold a decent edge?

Anyone know? I'm thinking maybe heat it up, let it cool on its own, then zone temper it with oil or water. Any comments appreciated.
