Update:6/20/04

As of right now Steve Tarani's website has not been updated to allow people to register for the Karambit Level 1 course at Shooter's World on Aug. 14-15.

If you want to register and reserve your spot (which several have already done) please do so by emailing Steve through his website info@contactdefense.com and tell him.

I am sorry for any inconvenience.

This is an EXCELLENT class! I attended Steve's Karambit class in Houston last year. If could take the time off from work, I would travel to this one! Students will learn relevant self-defense skills whether or not they intend to actually carry a karambit. Just about every karambit technique has an accompanying empty-hand technique; the karambit enhances the technique. Also, do not worry about this class being "artsy." The Karambit Level One class does not require adopting any of the arcane Silat stuff, and going into those low bent-knee stances is not required. Also, in case anyone is wondering, the karambit itself is not limited to mere slashing techniques. Does a can opener slash a can open? No, it pierces and then cuts. OK, time to turn off the enthusiasm and get ready for work. Y'all stay safe and well!

BTTT for a great class. If I can line the planets up just right, I might try to make it there. If so, it will be a repeat for me, as I attended this class in Houston last year.

Update 7/28/04

For those of you who were taking this course, the payment area is now up and running https://www.contactdefense.com/paybill.asp

You need to pay ASAP to reserve your spot in the class, Steve will be emailing those who have registered that they can now pay, but he is on the road and it will be a few days. Just an early heads up.

Sorry for the delay.
