Scott, I agree 100%. I think Mr.Dick was right on with his assessment. Sometimes we forget that a knives #1 purpose is to cut.

I really like his editorials and reading his knife reviews. Some dont like his style, but I find it very informative.

I remember that editorial also, and really liked it as well.

Although I think that overbuilt knives are also needed (and quite convenient to have around), the editorial really put those knives in perspective.

Personally, I like having one or two of those overbuilt knives handy. Other than that, I stick to more "normal" knives.
