I just got a new knife made by Peter Steyn of South Africa. The blade is called a Crator, made by processing 12C27 blade steel. Handle is cocobolo and it came with a really nice leather sheath, with lots of drain holes in the bent leather. Apparently I cannot post a picture; but, you can check it out at his web site (www.petersteynknives.com) it's one of his Hunter/Skinner knives.
I'm wondering if any of you out there in electron land have any experience with this type of steel?
P.S. If you would like a picture, email me @ jlkitch@bellsouth.net (It is a shot from my case at the Great Southern Knife Show last weekend, you'll see other knives you might be able to identify)
