The "joint" connecting the screen and body of my Powerbook is getting some sticky movement. Do you think applying a little bit of Militec1 would be a good idea, or should I not do it?

There are some kinds of plastic that dissolve in the solvents in mixtures like militec 1. I don't know if your laptop case is made of one of those plastics or not.

I suggest dry teflon spray. That should be safe. Even with that, I would be careful to apply it only to the joint.

If you don't have any dry teflon spray you could try graphite -- rub the surfaces that stick with a pencil.

Ya...I wasn't sure. I was thinking that would happen, so I asked.

Graphite conducts. I wouldn't put it in.

I don't know what I would use. A dry teflon powder would be idea I suppose.

Silicone liquid would not harm plastic and would flow into the joint unlike teflon powder.
