Hey all - I know there are a lot of ZT0200 fans out there.

I was wondering if any of you had sticky lock problems with yours when it was new?

I just got my new ZT0205 and I have noticed that the lock has gotten progressively stickier throughout the last two days. The lock sticks when I try to release it.

Have any of you experienced this?

Have your 0200's gotten smoother with time?

I have had some minor stickiness on my 0300 locks, but those are titanium and a Ti framelock is a differnent animal than a .080" steel linerlock. And yes, my 0300's got smoother with time.

The lock on the 205 is a bit stickier than the norm. I have absolutely no rationalization for this, but, I think it has to do with the absence of the coating. My 205 is a bit sticky and the pivot wasn't all that smooth. I hit it with some tough glide and it smoothed the pivot out a bit. I put it through about 50 cycles last night and will try to do 50 a night until it breaks in. I'd say just hang in there and keep working with it..... good knives don't get old they just get better IMO.

By the way, I should note that this knife is AWESOME. The only thing that would make it cooler would be a Titanium framelock version. This would make the knife slimmer and more pocket friendly while even possibly upping the "tough bad @ss knife" factor a bit! Regardless of anything I say here, I am very happy with this knife, and it is definitely one of the best bargains I have seen in a long time.

Personally, I would make the knife 5-10% smaller overall, but no smaller than that. My only real issue with the knife is that I think it's a bit too thick. It's a whopping .725" in the middle of the handle! That's 0.107" (roughly a tenth of an inch) thicker than a ZT0300. I'm considering sanding the texture off the handles and polishing the g-10 to save a bit on thickness and pocket wear. If I ever do it I'll post pics.

Just got my 0205 today. The first try with the flipper(?) was a little sticky. Once it broke loose and got a light application of oil it works fine. Much easier than my Lahar. More like a JYDII.

i ordered my 0200 today... if i had done a little sonner it could've already been in the mail, but ill get it tuesday so no biggie...
finding a place to carry it on me is gonna be the real problem
