Is there a glue that can be used to bond suede leather to the inside of a Kydex sheath before it is formed around the knife?

Also what is a good way to get rid of those little shiny spots (Surface Scratches) on Kydex that happen when your working it?

Hi Robert. I'm no expert on kydex, but have been learning to love it as a user sheath material. From what I've read here and elsewhere, very few recommend that you line a kydex sheath with anything. Apparently grime builds up fairly quickly, and you end up with the same scratching problem you were trying to avoid in the first place. I beleive that Anso posted a pretty cool tutorial on how he attaches lizard skin etc. onto the exterior surface of his kydex sheaths. Wasn't more than a few weeks ago. I'm sure that technique could be used successfully on on interior liner as well. Good luck.

Thanks Clint,
I used Anso's technique to do the leather on the outside of a IWB sheath, Black Velvet thread.
I guess Kydex scratches are unaviodable to a degree. They really are just cosmetic anyway.
But who wants a blade they just paid top $ for scratched from the sheath.

The search continues...

Robert,
Back when kydex was just getting popular, I was making more fixed blades than folders. I tried leather, felt, and a number of other materials, even moleskin, and the problem with them was sand and grit would get down in the sheath and stick in the softer materials and scratch the blade worse than the kydex did. I had the best luck with the "hook" side of Velcro strips. I used the 1" wide stuff stuck down the center of the both sides.
Hope that helps.
