Sticky VS working edge

Simple question - can a blade (any super steel for arguments sake) hold a sticky edge? I'm noticing that it cannot. Cut a few plastic straps and the edge is gone. My working edges (honed to sticky - then I add a visible micro bevel) last a while.

Depends on the steel and the edge angle. My M390/20CV blades hold an paper cutting edge a lot longer than my S30V/154CM cutting the same things.

S90, S35 and 20CV are in my main rotation. For my uses they all seem be roughly alike (with S90 holding an edge slightly better).
My angle is very low (by hand) I'm guessing around 15 ish degrees per side.
This is the edge that doesn't last long. My 'working edge' micro bevel is set to roughly 30 degrees. I make the micro bevel very small - just enough to see it with the naked eye. Almost looks like a burr. These edges last me a long while.
I just wish that a sticky edge would last because those 1st few cuts are alway amazing..

I don't know what knives you're using as a comparison. A few things are possible. The 15° angle may not be optimal for those knives. Second, how are you determining the 15° angle? Depending on your sharpening system, a 15° angle might not be that angle.

I know some people like micro-bevels, but I've never noticed any difference between having one and not having one when I've sharpened knives on my Wicked Edge and used them.

I'm guessing the angle as I sharpen by hand.
The knives are:
Para 3 S90
Small inkosi S35
Mini grip S20V
So sharp that it feels like it is sticky when using the '3 finger test'
Hope that answers everything..
