So, I've been thinking about buying a Strider or Hinderer for a while now, and I'm finally about to break down and get one. I've thought about it a lot and I think I'll start with a 3.5" XM-18. My plan is that this will be my heavy duty tank, and then I'll eventually get a Strider PT as my secondary blade. This way I'll get a feel for Strider, in a smaller, more people friendly package. I've seen a few people say they find the PT has better lockup, QC, and F&F than the SnG. For those who have experience with both, how do you feel about that? Is it true, or no?

My advice would be to drop the Strider entirely and get a 3.5" and 3" XM-18.

I've thought about that. I've been wanting to get my hands on a Strider for so long though. How does the 3" compare to the PT size wise?

The Hinderer 3" is the perfect EDC size wise, F&F, coolness factor etc... The only problem with Hinderers as you may already know is where to get 'em. They are nowhere to be found except in the exchange, at a higher price than MSRP.

The Strider PT is slightly inadequate and flimpsy knife IMHO. For the same price, I'd rather get a small Insingo or a Sebenza as a second blade. Just my $.02

What makes you say that?

Please clarify , I have two PT CC's and both are as solid as any Sebenza I have owned.

I prefer the ergonomics of the PT CC to the small Seb ,for a small folder I have yet to find another that comes close.
